The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an arid to semi-arid country. Water resources depend on variable rainfall and therefore are characterized by scarcity, variability, and uncertainty: Jordan is therefore ranked fourth poorest country with regard to water resources worldwide.
The largest water consume is prior taken from Agriculture, taking about 70 % of the national water budget.
