The Egyptian government plans to increase the supply of electricity generated from renewables to 42% by 2035.

Whilst one of Egypt’s largest privately developed utility-scale solar projects – the Kom Ombo PV solar plant – is kicking off, much of the country remains underserved by the grid. Small-scale projects, off-grid solutions, storage systems and distributed power will have a key role to achieve the universal electrification. There is also an growing demand for commercial and industrial (C&I). Furthermore, Egypt’s position as a regional energy hub is shaping up with several interconnections in the MENA region and towards Europe.
